1. Arborvitae
Arborvitae are a wonderful choice for landscaping as they are extremely hardy and can also be used for privacy or a privacy screen. The Eastern Arborvitae is particularly tolerant to droughts.

Crape Myrtle species grow fairly quickly and generally reach about 25 – 30 feet tall. They thrive in warmer climates, and can grow in a number of soil types. Different species of Crape Myrtles can be white, pink, purple or mauve., and are easily identified in June or July when flowers blossom in bunches.
4. Honey Locust
The Honey Locust is an ornamental tree that grows up to 100 feet tall. It is extremely hearty, and can thrive in dry areas such as Nevada and Texas as well as urban environments. It can provide substantial shade in hot climates.
5. Japanese Zelkova
The Japanese Zelkova is native to East Asia, but thrives in drought conditions in many areas. The leaves of the Zelkova are dark green, and will turn yellow or red in the fall, depending on the variety. It is a decorative tree, and is suitable for suburbs and cities.
